WILDERNESS AWARENESS
Another Way incorporates wilderness awareness as a vital method of connecting students to learning about and respecting the earth. Children will recognize and have the ability to identify plants and animals. They will learn to move safely and thrive in a wild environment.
In our outdoor activities, children gain an understanding of the Lakota (Sioux) philosophy:
"We are all related"
Rather than just a topic of interest, interaction in natural environments builds a foundation upon which children may draw creatively
for the rest of their lives.
Master teachers help guide all outdoor activities. As children develop their thriving skills through observation and direct interaction, they learn that the Nature is orderly and safe. A sense of belonging, connection and harmony with all life is awakened.
