The Another Way (AW) Scholarship Fund was created in 2010 to provide financial aid scholarships to families in our community.
The scholarship committee exists to work with families who desire the innovative, integrated educational approach developed by Another Way School and who are looking for funding to attend the school.
It is Another Way's intention to help supplement a child’s tuition, not be the sole source of funding for a child.
PURPOSE of the Another Way Scholarship Fund
The Another Way Scholarship Program was established in September 2010 and was established to provide financial aid scholarships to families in the Summit and Wasatch counties. The purpose of the financial aid scholarship program is to:
- Support the interest of local families who have demonstrated an appreciation of an integrated Montessori approach to child development and education.
- Encourage new families to look at our integrated, Montessori based approach to education.
- Promote demographic and socio-economic diversity within a cutting edge educational community.
Financial aid awards are based on demonstrated need and fulfillment of the purpose of the scholarship program.
Eligibility for financial aid is based on acceptance of enrollment to AW, and a needs’ analysis of taxable income, assets, and expenses indicated on a completed standard application form.
It is AW's intention to help supplement a child's tuition, not be the sole source of funding for a child. Each scholarship will be determined by:
- Need
- Number of openings per scholarship cycle
- Funds available.
AW works with families who desire expansive and integrated education for their child(ren) and are looking for funding to attend Another Way.
CONTRIBUTION MATCHING:
It is the preference of AW, though not a requirement, that the following occur:
- The applicant pledges to match AW available funds for each child
- An applicant first seeks to obtain financial assistance through other private or public funding sources.
ANOTHER WAY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION:
A complete scholarship packet will contain, in the following order:
- $50.00 nonrefundable application fee payable to Another Way
- Completed and signed application form
- Photocopy of IRS Form 1040
- A completed Personal Financial Statement form
All applications must be received by the deadline for the current or upcoming school year in order to be considered. Again, this is a postmark deadline. If you have questions, please contact use at: [email protected]
Eligibility:
Financial aid awards are based on demonstrated need and fulfillment of the purpose of the scholarship program. The eligibility for financial aid is based on a student’s acceptance through the normal admission process, acceptance of enrollment to Another Way.
Each year, the Tribal Council will vote to establish the amount of the scholarship(s) and the program (grade levels) eligible, based on enrollment and funds available.
Applications are available online. Completed and submit to AW. Applicants will be notified as to acceptance within 30 days of receipt application.
The Scholarship Committee with the Tribal Council reserves the right to modify deadlines as needed.
Procedure:
The student must first be accepted through the standard admission process.
Determination of the award is based on the needs’ analysis of the family’s ability to pay school fees and tuition. This information is kept in the strictest confidence and is reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and Tribal Council only.
Any information submitted for consideration can be returned to the applicant upon request to the Scholarship Committee and Tribal Council. If parents are separated or divorced, both parties must submit a financial statement. It is expected that both parents will contribute to their child’s educational expenses.
